"I <3 Being a Lesbian"

Zine, April 2022

Pamphlet zine written as a love letter to my lesbian community.

Originally written to connect my earlier zines, “Turns Out I Was A Lesbian All Along” and “so you “support survivors:)” but don’t hold their abusers accountable…" together.

Everything I know about how to be both kind and discerning, I learned from being a lesbian."

"so you "support survivors:)" but don't hold their abusers accountable..."

Zine, December 2020

December 2020, collage on paper

I wrote this zine after leaving a community in which people congratulated themselves for their commitment to “feminism,” and then told me I was overreacting when I expressed distaste for the fact that they were still close friends with a man that stalked me. I know situations like this happen all the time, so my intent in writing this is to both share what I know about what true accountability looks like, and to call out those that claim to support survivors, but don’t walk their talk by participating in accountability processes. I ask that readers show up to this work ready to be critical of themselves and their communities.

"Turns Out I Was a Lesbian All Along"

Zine, June 2020

June 2020, collage on paper

Designed to be a more sophisticated version of the “Am I Gay” quizzes taking space up on the internet, this zine poses questions prompting the reader to question their sexuality, while sharing my personal thoughts and experiences in an effort to help them figure their answer out. I made this zine because it’s something that I would have found helpful when I was questioning what identity was right for me; I hope that people that are questioning whether their attraction to men is cultural or biological will find it affirming and helpful:)

"Not Your Pretentious Curator's Museum Guide"

Zine, May 2020

May 2020, collage on paper

I designed this zine to be a didactic material that introduces the reader to different museum controversies and invites them to investigate and add their thoughts to the conversation surrounding them. It challenges the idea that museums can be neutral and calls for their decolonization. Includes 28 pages of explanations of different controversies, along with lined pages for the reader to write their thoughts. Can be used in any museum.

"She Began to Question"

Zine, June 2019

June 2019, collage on paper

28 pages of feminist essays and art-journal excerpts from a period during my freshman year of college when I began to question the societal expectations that women are taught to conform to. This zine details my journey to deconstruct “norms” around beauty, acceptable female behavior, and religion. It challenges women to question what they perceive to be “normal” and calls men to not be complacent in the struggle that women face in society.
